The
purpose of the St. Camille
Foundation is to promote
and support the St. Camille
Association founded by Mr.
Gregoire Ahongbonon and located
in Bouaké in the Ivory
Coast and in Avrankou in
Benin. This association provides
help to social outcasts,
in particular mental health
sufferers, and strives to
liberate them, provide them
with shelter and rehabilitate
them into society.
The Foundation also promotes
and supports the activities
of other organisations
pursuing similar goals,
helping as well to establish
a local partnership with
the purpose of promoting
public awareness of the
problems.
Furthermore,
the Foundation actively works
towards developing a culture
of caring for and rehabilitating
the mentally ill.
The Foundation undertakes
in particular to provide
technical and financial
support for the development
of local business enterprises,
that will allow the integration
of the mentally ill into
working and social environments.
